Casino Affiliate Glossary

Updated 27 October 2026

Casino affiliation has its own shorthand, and a lot of it shows up in your first week: FTD, NGR, carryover, postback. This glossary explains the terms in plain English, with a note on how each one applies to a Casino Affiliates Group account where it matters. Definitions are general; the exact meaning of any term in a commission calculation is always the one set out in a program's terms.

A

A URL that carries your affiliate ID, so the platform knows a visitor came from you. On our platform you get one link per brand, for each website you add.
Affiliate manager
The person at the program who handles your account: deals, creatives, tracking questions. Every Casino Affiliates Group partner has a dedicated manager.
ARPU
Average revenue per user. Total revenue from your players divided by the number of players. Useful for comparing sources over time.

B

Baseline
In CPA deals, the minimum a player must do to count, often a minimum first deposit and sometimes some wagering. Read the deal before you plan around it.
Brand bidding
Buying search ads on a casino's brand name. Most programs forbid it unless agreed in writing. See compliance basics.
Bonus code
A code a player enters to claim an offer. Each of our six brands has one; the current list is on casino bonus codes.

C

Carryover (negative carryover)
What happens to a negative NGR balance at the end of a period: whether it is carried into the next month or reset. It differs between programs. Explained in full in negative carryover explained.
Chargeback
A deposit reversed through the player's bank or payment provider. Deducted from revenue.
Conversion rate
The share of visitors who take an action. In casino affiliation usually signups ÷ clicks or FTDs ÷ signups.
CPA (cost per acquisition)
A fixed payment per qualifying depositing player. One of our three deal models. Compared with the others in RevShare vs CPA vs Hybrid.
Creatives
Banners, text links, logos and landing pages provided by the program. Ours are available in several languages.
A small file stored in the visitor's browser that remembers which affiliate sent them. Server-to-server tracking reduces reliance on cookies.
Forcing tracking cookies on visitors who never clicked. A form of fraud that gets accounts closed.
Crash games
Fast games where a multiplier rises until it "crashes" and players cash out before it does. Popular with mobile and streaming audiences.
CTR (click-through rate)
Clicks divided by impressions. Tells you whether a placement or banner gets noticed.

D

Deposits
The total amount your referred players paid into their accounts in a period, first and repeat deposits together.
Disclosure
Telling readers that you earn commission through your links. Expected on every page and channel that promotes casinos.

F

FTD (first-time deposit)
A referred player's first deposit, and the most watched number in early reports. Also used to mean "first-time depositor", the player themselves.

G

GEO
The country or region a player comes from. Deals, offers and brand fit can vary by GEO. See picking brands for your GEO.
Geo deal
A commission arrangement specific to one country. Possible on our platform; ask your manager.
GGR (gross gaming revenue)
What players staked minus what they won, before deductions.

H

Hybrid
A deal combining CPA and RevShare: a fixed payment per qualifying player plus a share of revenue. Our third deal model.

I

Impression
One display of a banner or link to a visitor. Impressions on their own pay nothing, but they are the denominator of CTR.

L

Landing page
The page a visitor reaches after clicking your link. Matching it to your content is the easiest conversion win there is.
LTV (lifetime value)
The total revenue a player generates over their whole time at a casino. RevShare affiliates live on LTV.

M

Minimum payout (threshold)
The balance you need before a payment is made. Ours is $250, counted across all six brands together.
Multi-brand program
One affiliate account covering several casinos. Casino Affiliates Group covers six. Compared with single-brand programs in this guide.

N

NGR (net gaming revenue)
GGR after deductions such as bonuses, chargebacks and fees, as defined in the program terms. RevShare percentages apply to NGR.

P

Postback (S2S)
A server-to-server call the platform sends to your own tracker when a player signs up or deposits. We support outgoing postbacks. Set-up in sub-IDs and postbacks.
PPC
Pay-per-click advertising. Check the program's rules on paid traffic before spending.

R

Reload bonus
An offer for existing players on a later deposit. Reloads keep players active, which is good news for RevShare affiliates.
Retention
How many of your players keep playing over weeks and months. The main driver of RevShare income.
RevShare (revenue share)
A percentage of the NGR your players generate, paid for as long as they play. On our platform new partners start at 25% and can move up to 50% with performance. See commissions.

S

Signup (registration)
A new player account created through your link.
Sub-affiliate
An affiliate you referred to a program, where some programs pay you a share of their earnings. Ask your manager whether it applies.
Sub-ID
A label added to a tracking link so you can split results by page, placement or campaign. One of the most useful tools you have.

T

Tracker
Software that records clicks and conversions across your campaigns. Our platform runs on AffTrackers, and you can read more on the AffTrackers site.

U

Unique click
A click counted once per visitor, so repeat clicks don't inflate your figures. Our reports count unique clicks.

W

Wagering requirement
How many times bonus funds must be played through before winnings can be withdrawn. Always mention that it applies when you describe a bonus.
White label
A casino built on another company's platform under its own brand. Operators interested in this can start at for operators.

Putting the terms to work

A quick example ties several terms together. You send 1,000 unique clicks to a brand in a month; 80 become signups and 25 make an FTD. Those 25 players deposit a total of $5,000, and after their wins, bonuses and chargebacks the NGR is $1,600. On a 25% RevShare deal your commission for that brand is $400. On CPA you'd be paid per qualifying depositor instead, and on Hybrid you'd get a bit of both. Same traffic, three different readings, which is why it pays to know the vocabulary.

Most of these words come together in one place: your report. Our guide on reading your affiliate reports walks through them column by column. If you are just starting out, begin with the guides hub, then look at our six brands to see what you'd be promoting.
